When this is all over

Anamika Dutta

When this is all over,

No, I’m not going to run to the gym.

Although, I miss it more than anything.

When this is all over,

No, I’m not going to spend hours at the salon.

Although, I probably should.

My hair’s a mess, my nails are not done,

My brows are shabby, oh yeah! Some waxing needs to be done.

But, no! I won’t make an appointment right away.

When this is all over,

I won’t spend the first Saturday night in a club.

Although, I miss dancing.

Oh! I miss it so much,

I miss someone’s touch.

When this is all over,

I won’t walk to the University.

Although, I want to so bad.

But, I won’t stay through that.

When this is all over,

I will go out to just breathe.

I will go to the beach and smell the sea.

I will hug all my friends,

Oh! It’d be nice to see them again.

When this is all over,

I’ll call my Mum,

Tell her I love her and book the next flight home.

When this is all over,

I’ll see my family, I’ll cry for hours;

Because for God’s sake I’m scared.

I know this is not the end but it could’ve been.

I know the worst of it all, we haven’t yet seen.

It’s going to get worse before it gets better,

Another storm is coming sooner or later.
